Adam Vinatieri’s Game Worn Super Bowl 38 Shoes Going up for Sale

Any Boston sports fan over the age of 20 remembers the beginning of the New England Patriots dynasty run, as they won Super Bowl’s in the 2001, 2003, and 2004 seasons led by one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Tom Brady. Their second Super Bowl victory took place on February 1st, 2004 (2003 season). On the biggest stage in sports with 1:08 to play in regulation time and the game tied at 29-29, Brady was able to advance the Patriots to the 31-yard line line. Adam Vinatieri did the rest, nailing the 41-yard field goal with four seconds left in the game to win Super Bowl XXXVIII over the Carolina Panthers.

This Super Bowl victory would be the second in three years for the Patriots and was just the beginning in establishing them as a dynasty in the NFL. That game was also noteworthy for its headline-making halftime show, in which Janet Jackson suffered her accidental/completely intentional “wardrobe malfunction.”

Tom Brady ended up being the MVP but none of it could have happened without Adam Vinatieri’s clutch kick at the end of the game. Fast forward to current day and those same cleats that Vinatieri had worn during that game are on loan at The Hall at Patriots Place. The owner, New England Picture, out of Manchester, NH has owned the cleats since 2007, when they purchased them from Vinatieri himself. They are signed by Vinatieri and say “SB 38 game winner” and come will full authentication paperwork.

Soon, one lucky Patriots fan will have a chance to own the cleats. They will be going up for sale in the coming months, exclusively on Gemr, although a sale date has not yet been set. The sale price will be $50,000. Gemr is the online community for collectors to showcase their collectibles and socialize with like-minded people. Keep an eye out for the sale date and in the meantime, start sharing the awesome collectibles that you own on Gemr.
