1. How did you first get into collecting?
I first started collecting, or realized I was a collector, with the original Pokemon cards and Beyblades. I had to have all the Beyblades and I have always read books. My first books were Animorphs, Deltora Quest and the Warriors Series by Erin Hunter. Since I was five, I have always played video games starting with Pokemon of course. I have collected video games, and when possible the pre-order promos that come with it. After that, in eighth grade, I discovered the glorious world of anime and started buying manga and manga/game magazines that came with posters which is how I have my poster collection and miscellaneous things.
2. Where do you usually go to find items to add to your collection?
I usually find my things at conventions and sites such as Amazon and eBay.
3. Which item is your absolute favorite?
My absolute favorite item? That is hard to say… My Blaziken plush is one of them, since he is my all-time favorite Pokemon. I have had it since 2003 when I was nine, but I also love my Skyrim Alduin statue, Pokemon 20th anniversary 3DS and my Naruto blanket I have slept with since eighth grade! I cant let it go [laughs].
4. How much do you think your most valuable item is worth?
Honestly I don’t know what my most valuable item is. I have a lot of cards that could be worth a good sum and a few different things signed like a wall scroll, DVD’s, manga and books. Maybe my Japanese fire emblem awakening promo Robin TCG card that is signed by David Vincent AKA Robin.
5. Would you ever consider selling your collection?
Absolutely not. I care more about the memories I have with each thing, not the money.
6. Do you go to events where you can meet people who collect?
Not really, but I do go to anime conventions although that is a little different.
7. Do you think your collection will ever be “complete”?
No, my collection will never be complete. I read too many books and watch too much anime. Is there such a thing as watching too much anime? [Laughs] I play too many games AND card games so there is no way. I have a whole cabinet full of books I need to read and my Amazon list is full of books I will be buying. I also have a huge stack of games I need to complete, yet I still buy more.
8. Do your friends and co-workers know about your collectibles?
Oh yes, my friends know about my collectibles. I like to show them off when people are over and I always show pictures of my new things to friends online.
9. What is your “holy grail” item?
