Frick Collection ‘Engages Youth’ With a Mobile App

The Frick Collection announced the launch of a new mobile app this week, with which “works of art can be saved as favorites to enjoy offline or share via email, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+,” according to the museum. The app also provides audio tours to museum visitors. The Frick, a wonderfully staid building that houses the collection of a late-19th-century industrialist, also has Wi-Fi access, as my press release boasts.

The incredibly named Floyd Sweeting III, the museum’s head of technology and digital media, said in a statement: “It is important for us to preserve the serene atmosphere of the museum, so the app provides an interesting yet unobtrusive way to use current technology to deepen the experience and understanding of The Frick Collection.”
