Saber-tooth cat skeletons may scratch up $250,000

I.M Chait Beverly Hills Auction Gallery is featuring a semi annual sale on all things natural and prehistoric – fossils, minerals, gemstones, prehistoric animal skeletons, and — oh, yeah — a pair of saber-toothed cat skeletons that are expected to fetch $200,000 to $250,000.  I think it’s safe to say this will not be your typical auction.  The cats are displayed in mid-catfight poses, keeping them fierce even in the afterlife.  How much would you pay for this prehistoric conversation starter?

The sale will take place on July 26, 2014 at 1 p.m. Pacific Time (4 p.m. Eastern). Online bidding is being facilitated by LiveAuctioneers.com and Invaluable.com.
