Recently the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) has introduced some very powerful Marvel characters like Thanos and Captain Marvel. There have also been incredible moments of power from Thor and Scarlet Witch. However, in the vast universe of comics that Marvel has created, we can find beings whose powers exceed (by far) those characters.
Most have not had prominence in the cinema (except for Phoenix, although the film was quite disappointing). In some cases (such as Odin), there have been mentions or small appearances on the big screen. Without further ado, these are the 10 most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe ordered from the least to the most powerful:
All-Father of Asgard, protector of the nine kingdoms, killer of the ice giants, etc. (I know, he has a lot of names). Odin is the father of Thor, Hela, and Loki. He is a god capable of challenging some entities on this list like Galactus.
He’s also a conqueror who has won many difficult battles against all kinds of enemies that led him to dominate all nine kingdoms. Among the many skills that Odin has, the most powerful is the magical energy known as the Odin Force. It allows him to do things as shocking as to teleport humans, manipulate matter, create impenetrable barriers, and more.
The Devourer of Worlds is the only survivor of the previous universe. Galactus is responsible for maintaining the universal balance between the living and the dead. He does so by consuming planets. He can even give some of his power to chosen heralds, who foretell his coming to the worlds he will devour.
Galactus comes from the most advanced race in the previous universe and has such advanced technology that he can adapt his physical form to that of the being who observes him. This power makes it so that nobody knows your real identity. He has a variety of abilities at his fingertips, including telekinesis, transmutation of matter, the recreation of the planets he has devoured, and he can give part of his power to his heralds. It is rumored that he will be the main villain in Phase 4 of the MCU.
In short, Mephisto is the devil of the Marvel Universe (without wanting to disrespect Matt Murdock). He is a being who, unlike other villains (who have a certain moral ambiguity), is simply pure evil. Mephisto has rivaled many of the heroes and Marvel villains over the years with his lies.
Mephisto can use magic and modify memories. He is also immortal, and it does not matter if Mephisto dies in the reality of the living, as once he dies, he is in his realm where he is practically invincible.
Death is a cosmic entity that can be considered as the physical representation of death in the Marvel Universe. She is the queen of the place where the souls of all those who die in the multiverse arrive. This place is something like the realm of the dead. Death is as old as the universe and is immortal and omnipresent. In the comics (unlike the MCU), Thanos gathers the gems to make Death fall in love with him. However, she is attracted to Wade Wilson (Deadpool), an immortal human being but who wants to die with all his strength.
More than a character, Phoenix is a very famous cosmic entity in the Marvel Universe. Known mainly for its appearances in the comics and movies of the X-Men, Phoenix’s most famous storyline is The Dark Phoenix Saga. The Phoenix Force is a universal force considered the protector of creation and represents life, fire, and passion.
However, it is so unpredictable and volatile that in addition to giving life, it is usually the cause of great devastation. It requires a host that is typically a member of the Gray family, with Jean being the favorite and best known.
Eternity is the physical representation of the universe, being an entity capable of manipulating space and time. Together with Infinity, it helps maintain the continuity of reality. Although it does not have a physical body, it can modify reality to take a form that can be understood by living beings.
He is the son of Sue Storm and Reed Richards from the Fantastic Four and his power is above that of an omega-level mutant. As a result of the radiation to which his parents were exposed, Franklin was born with almost infinite power. That power allows him to create universes and alter reality.
Marvel recently revealed that Franklin Richards will be present at the end of the universe and will be the first being of the next. If this statement seems familiar to you, it is because you read it five characters ago. Franklin Richards will be the Galactus of the universe that replaces the current one.
The Living Tribunal
The Living Tribunal is an omnipresent entity that judges other cosmic entities and only intervenes when the same universe is in danger. He is the representation of justice for the entire multiverse. He judges with the same rod in all cases. His energy is infinite and can erase entire realities. In fact, Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet is no match for The Living Tribunal.
The Beyonder is an entity that is outside of reality itself, whose first appearance in Secret Wars # 1 presents him as a being similar to the perception we have of God. Like Galactus, he adapts his physical form to the being that observes him, so that his true form is not known (if he even has one). His power is so great that he was able to create a reality in which the heroes and villains of the Marvel universe would fight for fun in a battle that, according to their perspective, would define the war between good and evil. He’s the most powerful being in the Marvel universe — except for…
The One Above All
In the words of Mephisto, The One Above All (not to be confused with the celestial of the same name) “is only the biggest boy in the playground.” He is an omnipotent and omnipresent entity. The One Above All is responsible for the creation of the entire Marvel multiverse. There is little information about him, but there is a theory that it is the way the creators of Marvel (Stan Lee, Jack Kirby) appear in the comics.
