The Dominy workshop is fascinating and this is such a great example of a wheel cutting engine. To think that these were used in the 18th century to make clock gears by hand is thought provoking.

John Shearer was such an innovative cabinetmaker. His items are really interesting. It's nice that there is great new scholarship on him.

What an odd slant lid desk. I have seen lots of these desks, but never one with all this carving. Somehow it all works though. Really interesting! I think I like it a lot!
